Writing FAQPage markup by hand is slow and easy to break
Hand-typed JSON-LD fails on small things: a missing comma, an unescaped quote inside an answer, a bracket in the wrong place. This page builds the FAQPage object for you. You type plain questions and answers, and it writes the Question and acceptedAnswer structure, escapes the text safely, and hands back a complete script element you can drop into a page. The work runs locally in the browser tab, and your content is not uploaded.
Step by step
- Enter your opening question in the box labeled Question 1, then write the reply in Answer 1.
- Need more? Press + Add Question. Every press adds another numbered pair of boxes at the bottom of the list.
- Press Generate Schema to build the markup. It appears in a code panel beneath the buttons.
- Press Copy JSON-LD to put the whole script element on your clipboard.
- Add it to the page template or a custom HTML block, publish, then test the URL with Google's Rich Results Test.
What to watch for
The tool quietly skips any pair where the question or the answer is empty, and it has no control for removing a pair. To drop one, empty both of its boxes and generate again. There is no required-field check either, so pressing the button with nothing filled in produces a FAQPage whose mainEntity list is empty.
Google's guidelines say FAQ content has to be shown to people on the page, and that FAQPage fits pages where the site itself supplies the answer. If visitors can submit their own answers, QAPage is the right type. Google accepts a few HTML tags in answer text, such as links and lists, and whatever you type is passed through unchanged.
Questions people ask
Will this get my FAQs shown as a rich result in Google?
Probably not. For most websites that search feature ended in 2023. The markup can still describe the page's questions to any system that reads structured data, but a larger listing should not be the reason you add it.
Where does the script go on the page?
Google reads JSON-LD in either the head or the body, so use whichever your CMS makes easy. What matters is that it sits on the same page that displays the questions.
Can I use the same FAQ block on several pages?
Google's FAQ documentation covers this case: when an identical question and answer appear on more than one page of your site, mark up only one instance of it.
