LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)

Technical Definition

LCP measures how long it takes for the largest content element (image or text block) to become visible in the viewport. Good LCP is under 2.5 seconds. Common causes of poor LCP: slow server response, render-blocking resources, slow resource load times, client-side rendering. Optimize by improving TTFB, preloading critical resources, and optimizing images.

Simple Explanation (ELI13)

LCP measures how long it takes for the biggest thing on your page to show up. Usually this is a large image or a block of text. Google wants this to happen in under 2.5 seconds. If it takes longer, visitors might leave, and Google might rank you lower. Making images smaller and your server faster helps.
