Technical Definition
Domain Authority is Moz's proprietary metric (0-100) predicting a domain's ranking ability. Based on link profile quality and quantity. Similar metrics: Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR), Semrush Authority Score. Not a Google metric but useful for comparing sites. Higher DA generally indicates stronger ranking potential. Focus on quality over DA score when link building.
Simple Explanation (ELI13)
Domain Authority is a score from 0 to 100 that estimates how likely a website is to rank in Google. It was created by Moz, not Google. Higher scores mean more authoritative sites. Every SEO tool has their own version. It's useful for comparing sites but not a perfect predictor of rankings.
