Technical Definition
A session is a group of user interactions within a time frame. In GA4, session ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. Sessions include pageviews, events, and conversions. Different from users (people) and pageviews (pages viewed). Session metrics help understand engagement patterns. One user can have multiple sessions.
Simple Explanation (ELI13)
A session is one visit to your website. If someone comes to your site, looks at a few pages, and leaves, that's one session. If they come back later, that's a new session. Sessions help you understand how people interact with your site in a single visit.
