Rich Results

Technical Definition

Rich results (formerly rich snippets) are enhanced search results that display additional information beyond the standard title, URL, and description. Types include review stars, FAQ accordions, recipe cards, event details, product information, and more. Earned through proper structured data implementation. Increase CTR but don't directly affect rankings. Test eligibility with Google's Rich Results Test.

Simple Explanation (ELI13)

Rich results are fancy search listings that show extra stuff like star ratings, images, prices, or expandable FAQs. They stand out more than regular results, so people click on them more often. You get them by adding structured data to your pages. Not all pages can get rich results, only certain types of content.
