Technical Definition
Impressions are the number of times a page appears in search results. Counted when URL appears in viewport (for standard results) or when result is rendered (for special features). High impressions with low clicks indicates CTR improvement opportunity. Available in Google Search Console. Useful for understanding visibility even without clicks.
Simple Explanation (ELI13)
Impressions are how many times your page showed up in search results, even if nobody clicked. If your page appears in 1,000 searches but only gets 50 clicks, you have 1,000 impressions and 50 clicks. Looking at impressions helps you understand your visibility in search.
