Doorway Pages

Technical Definition

Doorway pages are low-quality pages created to rank for specific queries and funnel users to a single destination. Examples: many near-identical location pages, multiple pages targeting keyword variations. Violates Google guidelines. Legitimate location pages with unique, valuable content are not doorway pages.

Simple Explanation (ELI13)

Doorway pages are low-effort pages created just to rank and redirect people elsewhere. Like having 50 nearly identical city pages just swapping the city name. Google considers this spam. Having legitimate location pages with genuinely different content for each location is fine.
