Domain Rating (DR)

Technical Definition

Domain Rating is Ahrefs' metric (0-100) measuring backlink profile strength. Calculated based on quantity and quality of referring domains. Logarithmic scale: going from 70 to 80 requires more links than 10 to 20. Useful for competitive analysis and link prospect evaluation. Not a Google ranking factor, but correlates with ranking ability.

Simple Explanation (ELI13)

Domain Rating is Ahrefs' version of how strong a website's backlink profile is, scored 0 to 100. Getting from DR 50 to 60 takes way more links than going from 10 to 20. It helps you understand how strong a competitor's link profile is or whether a site would be a good link target.
